UPDATED: Woman taken to hospital after bike crash in Bridlington

Humberside Police have closed a road in Bridlington after a woman was found seriously injured.

A road was closed in Bridlington this morning after a woman was seriously injured.

Police officers are in the Woldgate area of Bridlington after a woman came off her bike at 9.15am this morning.

Officers had closed Roman Road between Woldgate and the junction of Church Lane.

A search team, including the fire service and North Yorkshire Mountain Rescue, had been looking for the woman as she could not be found at the scene of the crash.

She has since been found and taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries. They are not thought to be life threatening.

The road remained closed until about 3.45pm; it has since reopened.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances which led to the woman being injured.
