No details have yet been released, but it appears that a person was involved in an accident at a pedestrian crossing on Burniston Road, outside Peasholm Park, this afternoon.
A fast-response ambulance car was the first emergency service at the scene, soon joined by police and an ambulance, and Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called.
The air ambulance landed outside The Sands apartments, and a crowd gathered to watch as it later took off.
