WEATHER: Yorkshire Coast to enjoy sunshine this weekend as some parts of UK hotter than Corfu!

Just a week after a yellow warning was issued for snow across parts of North Yorkshire it is predicted to be a sunny weekend ahead.

The Met Office is forecasting sunshine across Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington this weekend.

Parts of Britain are set to bask in temperatures as high as 24C this week.

Meanwhile, thermometers on the Greek island of Corfu will only rise to 19C.

It comes as the North Yorkshire Moors National Park announces fire alert as dry spell continues.

Scarborough:

Friday - Sunny with highs of 15C.

Saturday - Cloudy with sunny intervals, highs of 11C.

Sunday - Cloudy with sunny intervals, highs of 9C.

Whitby:

Friday - Sunny with highs of 14C.

Saturday - Overcast with sunny spells, highs of 11C.

Sunday - Cloudy with sunny intervals, highs of 10C.

Bridlington:

Friday - Sunny with highs of 15C.

Saturday - Cloudy, changing to sunny by early evening, highs of 11C.

Sunday - Cloudy with sunny intervals in the evening, highs of 9C.
