Whitby set to remember the fallen

Whitby Town Council will be holding two events this Remembrance Sunday, in honour of those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.

A short secular service will take place at 11am at the War Memorial, Dock End, before the Annual United Service for Remembrance Day will be held in St Mary’s Parish Church at 2.30pm.

An Armistice Day service is also being held this morning (Fri) at the War Memorial at 11am.

Town Mayor, Cllr Noreen Wilson will attend the events, with a selection of organisations also present to lay wreaths. Picture from last year’s event, by Scott Wicking.
