And this year, there is a another focus on recognising the achievements of Scarborough’s youngsters.

Brave toddler Georgie Craig is the youngest nominee, with the ‘Go Georgie Go’ youngster up for a prize in the Courage over Adversity category.

He was nominated for his courageous battle against a growth-development condition – a battle he’s winning, after he defied doctors’
expectations to walk unassisted for the first time on Christmas Eve.

The former world champion has perhaps fought the biggest fight of his career after he was forced to hang up his gloves due to brain injuries, with the former Olympian shedding several stone to return to the ring as a trainer.

He was nominated in the Borough Pride category for being an “inspiration to the whole of Scarborough”, with his nominator adding: “Paul’s been through so much, but he’s still an incredible role model for young and old.”

The Borough Pride category is just one of 10 awards, a list of which is available on the adjacent form.

The deadline for nominations is Monday February 16.
