Woman impaled on aluminium piping after falling while decorating at Scarborough property

A woman had to be rescued by firefighters after she fell and impaled herself on some aluminium piping.

Scarborough firefighters were called to premises just off Gladstone Road in the town at around 6.40pm on Wednesday.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the woman had fallen while doing some decorating.

Firefighters and paramedics helped the woman into the ambulance with the length of piping still attached.
