Today is Yorkshire Day.
Today is Yorkshire Day.

Yes, the big day is finally upon us as Yorkshire gets to enjoy its moment in the spotlight - and we want you to share your celebrations with us.

August 1 is officially Yorkshire Day and today, people from Scarborough to Settle, Doncaster to Dewsbury and Hull to Halifax will be marking their proud Yorkshire roots and donning white roses as the county toasts its big day.

Over the last week, we've been celebrating everything that's great about the place we call home.

The people, the places, the history - we've been taking a look at them all as we celebrate everything that's great about God's Own County.

Halifax will be the official centre of celebrations, with the Town Hall flying the flag of Yorkshire - but plenty of other cities, towns and villages across Yorkshire will be joining in the fun.

But now its down to you to tell us what YOU are getting up to for Yorkshire Day.

If you are having a party, celebrating with friends or simply just donning a white rose to show off your proud Yorkshire roots, share the moment with us.

You can email us your pictures, send them to us on Twitter or share them with us on our Facebook page.

We look forward to seeing them all - and hope each and everyone of you has a 'reyt good day!"
