A London construction worker was left stunned after BOTB arrived on his worksite to reveal he’d won a brand-new £47,000 Cupra Terramar — after two years of playing the online spot-the-ball competition.

A construction worker London has scooped a brand-new dream car after winning an online spot the ball competition.

Amaniel Haile, from East Ham, London, was surprised at work with a £47,000 Cupra Terramar VZ1, delivered by a film crew from the dream car giveaway firm BOTB.

Amaniel had entered the draw he had been playing for two years hoping for a big win, but he was shocked to see BOTB presenters Christian Williams and Katie Knight arriving on his building site while he was busy operating a telehandler.

“I’m in shock. Is this real?” said the 27-year-old, who regularly watches other winners' videos.

“I never thought I would win. It’s a dream. I play all the time and my work colleagues kept saying to me, ‘you’re going to win one day’.”

Amaniel has never owned a brand-new car, making the win even more special. His wife had also secretly been in on the surprise reveal, and even persuaded him to wash his work clothes without giving anything away.

To reveal the prize, Christian took him down the street where the Cupra Terramar VZ1 was parked waiting.

Amaniel was invited to sit inside as Christian talked him through its standout features – including the i4 Turbo engine, 261bhp output and 151mph top speed.

The following day, after the news had finally begun to sink in, Amaniel reflected on the win.

“I’m so happy to win. I never expected it, but I enjoyed playing and never gave up. When I saw Christian, I knew him straight away and thought it was a dream.

“I had a car but sold it because I live close to where I work, so I wasn’t really using it.

"I’m planning to take the cash alternative, but I’m in no rush to spend it. I want to focus on work and save the money before making any big decisions on what to do with it.”

Christian said: “Amaniel is one of those players who has played BOTB for years, watching other winners and hoping for the day he’d be one of the lucky ones.

“Seeing him sit inside his first-ever brand-new car was amazing. The Terramar is a fantastic motor – sporty, stylish and packed with tech.”

Katie added: “It was such a great moment. You could see instantly how much it meant to him.

"Revealing the car around the corner and watching his face light up was just priceless.”

BOTB gives away dream cars every week, and one of the latest prizes on offer is a 592 BHP Audi RSQ8 Vorsprung worth £78,000, with tickets costing just 22p.

The biggest prize being given away, though, is a luxury four-bedroom townhouse in Bath worth £1.15 million - tickets are just £1
