My favourite robot vacuum has been given a big upgrade - and a huge discount

SwitchBot’s K11+ looks similar to the K10+ Pro, but a big jump in suction power and its brilliantly compact design make this tiny robot vacuum surprisingly capable
When SwitchBot sent me their new K11+ robot vacuum I had to quickly check they'd not made a mistake and sent me its predecessor. The K10+ Pro has been performing duties in my conservatory for a while now, and the K11+ looks pretty much the same. But there are differences. Important differences.
The only obvious visual differences are in the base stations. The K11+ has a smaller base station, with a smart wooden lid. The K10+ Pro never felt outrageously large, but the more compact design is nice.
Flip the robots over and one of the only slight differences in the K11+ is that the rotating brush now has two prongs, rather than three. If that sounds like a backward step, it's not. Apparently it's less susceptible to tangling.

So on the face of it, they're not really any different. They even cost broadly the same (although there are some excellent special offers at the moment).
However, there are important differences when you dig into the specs. The one that leaps out at you is the power. The K11+ has twice the power of the K10+ Pro.
The K11+ usually costs £399, but the lowest price is currently on Amazon, which has a 40% discount
However, there’s also a voucher deal live now, which knocks a further £30 off the price
Tick the voucher box, and you’ll get it for £209.99 - which is an absolute bargain
The K10+ never really felt lacking, but the extra suction power in the K11+ really does make a difference. They're still not the best performers on carpets, but on hard floors they're excellent.
One improvement that hasn't been made is the "mop" feature. It's not really a mop, it's just a dry cloth that attaches manually to the underside. And, not to put too fine a point on it, it's just a bit rubbish.

I notice SwitchBot doesn't really mention the mopping feature on its website any more, and it's a surprise to see it coming back on the K11+ because, frankly, you're not going to use it.
Refreshingly, though, the size of the machine hasn't changed. And this is its best feature by far. Because it's around half the size of most of its competitors, it can sneak under tables, weave around chair legs, and fit into spaces the others simply can't. And that's at no detriment to the suction power, either.
This is why I still use one myself, and it's why I'd always recommend one to people, because it's just so simple, so neat, and so versatile.
