The Housing Strategy for Ryedale (2021-24) provides an outline for housing plans, objectives and actions that the District Council will be working on.

To ensure the strategy is the best that it can be and meets the needs of its communities, a survey is being launched for citizens to have their say.

The feedback gained from the survey will then be taken on board, before the Housing Strategy will be considered by Councillors at full council in spring 2021.

Councillor Keane Duncan, Leader of Ryedale District Council said: “It’s our priority to make sure that people in Ryedale have somewhere safe, warm and affordable to live.

“Families who have lived in this area for generations are struggling to stay where their roots are.

“They need new affordable housing, or they will have no choice but to move away to other areas.
