We asked readers across Yorkshire what gets them feeling most nostalgic about the decade, and it stirred up some very happy memories.
Many of you remember that era fondly as the best time of your life, whether it was the shops, the fashion, the music or simply your lost youth you are pining most for today.
It wasn’t all good, of course. As one reader pointed out, it was the decade of the three-day week, the bread strike, the miners’ strike and the winter of discontent, while soaring inflation left many people facing crippling mortgage repayments.
But, whether it’s because you’re looking through rose-tinted glasses or not, most of you remember the 70s fondly.
Asked what you missed most about the decade, some of you simply replied ‘everything’ or ‘happy days’.
Others were more specific, recalling great nights out at lost venues, good times playing on the streets with friends, and, of course, the prices.
Below are some of the things that came up most frequently when we asked what you miss about the 70s, with retro photos to bring the memories flooding back.

17. The summer of '76
You might not miss the drought, or the standpipes in the street, but for many of you growing up then, the long, hot summer of 1976 was the best time of your life. Bob Strange called it the 'best summer ever', adding: "Lager in the beer garden at the Sportsman, Warminster Road, 25p a pint, then across the road to Vinegar Vera's chippy for a fishcake butty ( with scraps ), all out of a pound NOTE." | Sheffield Newspapers
