A lot has changed since these pictures showing life around Yorkshire were taken in the 1950s and 60s.
If you grew up back then, this retro photo gallery is sure to bring back memories of what life was like more than half a century ago.
It captures ordinary people at work, at school and out socialising, showing the cars we drove and the clothes we wore.
These nostalgic images take you back to the days when a computer took up a whole room, the hum of electric milk floats was part of the morning soundscape, and people repaired TVs rather than throwing them away.
They show the last days of the old trolley buses, workers on the factory floor and laundry lines stretched across the street between the old back-to-back houses that were once commonplace.
Lost pubs, breweries and shops, including C&A, British Home Stores and Woolworths, are pictured too, as are bathers taking a dip in popular swimming pools and lidos of the time.
Some of the biggest stars of the day are also pictured visiting Yorkshire, from the film star Jayne Mansfield performing at a prison to John, Paul, George and Ringo bringing Beatlemania to a local theatre.
Only those of a certain age will remember the TV star 'Wee Willie' Harris, who had fans flocking for a glimpse when he turned up to present a prize.
Perhaps these photos will leave you pining for this bygone era, or maybe you’re too fond of today’s mod-cons to want to return to the way things were.
