Rhodes boxing clever after sponsor boost

Scarborough boxer George Rhodes has been backed by a local company heading into his third professional fight later this month.

Rhodes has won his two fights to date since turning pro earlier this year, and has received a huge boost as he builds up to his next fight in Hull on Saturday September 26 after Scarborough Spas renewed their backing of the former Westway man.

Rhodes said: “Without the support of Sean Spivey and Scarborough Spas it would be a real struggle, so I am really grateful to them for helping me out.”

Spivey said: “We’ve supported George for many years now and we’re delighted to see him doing do well now.

“Scarborough Spas are more than happy to support George and Westway Amateur Boxing Club as well.

“George is a dedicated lad with plenty of potential.”
