BECKETT LEAGUE: Scarborough see off Bridlington while Staithes stay top of Zone Two

Scarborough cruised to an 85-run Bridlington 2nds at North Marine Road in Zone One of the Premier Division.

Nick Zakrzewski (55) and Guy Emmett (35) helped Scarborough to 188-9, Harry Burton bagging 4-25 and Alex Burton 2-12 before Brid fell to 103 all out, Emmett taking 3-13.

Jack Pickard smashed a stunning century in Sherburn’s win over Flixton 2nds.

Burn posted 232-4, Pickard launching 103 and Jamie Thomson 66 before Phil Pickard’s 3-31 helped restrict Flixton to 200 all out, Cameron Anderson top-scoring with 38.

Staxton shocked Premier Division champions Filey.

The home side won by just four runs after Paul Virr’s 49 helped them post 151-5, Josh Dawson taking 3-39.

Despite Aaron Howard’s 46 and 39 from Callum Ferrie making 34, Filey fell short on 147-8, Elliott Cooper taking 3-37 while Adam Hargreaves and Ryan Hargreaves also took two wickets apiece.

Brett Cunningham smashed an unbeaten 103 including four sixes and 10 fours as Scalby beat Sewerby by 51 runs.

Cunningham was supported by Ben Luntley’s rapid knock of 72 from 37 balls, in which he smashed seven sixes, as Scalby posted 229-5, Craig Ward taking 3-35.

Sewerby made a solid start to their reply as openers Stephen Kitching (46) and Daniel Artley (36) impressed, but despite 31 from Peter Davies lower down the order, the visitors finished on 178-7, Gregor Fraser and Aidan Thomas both taking 3-25.

In Zone Two, Staithes continue to set the pace after a seven-wicket win at Nawton Grange.

Grange were all out for just 96 before Staithes cruised to 99-3.

Ebberston recorded a crushing 139-run win over Settrington.

Joe Robinson’s 79 helped Ebberston post 215-7 before Settrington were all out for just 79 despite Ben Corner’s 35, as the wickets were shared between Frankie Beal, Sam Hardie, Matthew King and Joe Dunnett.

Wykeham edged a low-scoring contest against Great Habton by 61 runs.

The hosts struggled to 129-6, Mike Dugdale top-scoring with 31 as Tom Richardson taking 2-20.

Habton collapsed to 68 all out in reply despite skipper John Lumley making 32 as Jack Holt and Adam Hutchinson bagged three wickets each.

Thornton Dale edged past Heslerton by just 13 runs.

Dale posted 152-5 as Stephen Temple made 66 and Tim Hunt 45, all-rounder Andy Slaughter took 3-23.

Despite Will Tindall’s unbeaten 43 and 33 from Sam Triffitt, Heslerton fell short on 139 all out, Gareth Hunt taking 3-24.
