The club, who have two teams playing in the Scarborough Beckett Cricket League and one in the AndyHire Evening Cricket League, have been hampered by the coronavirus pandemic, but chairman Neil Fletcher is confident the pavilion will be nearing completion soon.

“The situation with Covid-19 has set us back a bit and pushed costs up, but we’re still on track,” said Fletcher.

“There has been a huge effort from within the club to muck in and get involved in the project and Ross Triffitt has been putting hours in building the clubhouse for no charge, and there have been so many others helping out too - too many to thank individually but we're thankful to everyone for their help and support.

“We think we’ll be around £15,000 short of finishing the build when all is said and done, so any help we can get from here on in would be fantastic.

“We’re looking to improve our facilities for the good of our club, the local cricket leagues and also for the benefit of the community.

“Most of the funds we have raised so far have come from the local community, which we are grateful for, along with a donation from Sport England.”
