Bussey the all-round star as Scarborough 2nds crush Ebberston 2nds
Tom Bussey was the all-round star as YPLN Beckett Division 3 high-flyers Scarborough 2nds kept up their perfect record with a 105-run success against Ebberston 2nds at North Marine Road.
Openers Mike Mulyrne (19) and J Denton (16) gave the home side a solid start, with a third-wicket partnership of 91 between Bussey (51 from 67 deliveries, including eight fours) and Josh Rewcroft (37 off 65 balls including four fours and a six) putting them in the driving seat.

Rob Barker added 28 not out as the hosts ended on 179-6 from their 40 overs, Vernon Smith and Jon King taking two wickets apiece.
Mulryne (2-5) and Tom Sanders (2-31) then had Ebberston in trouble early on at 26-4, opener Jake Warters hitting 40 but the visitors then slipped from 59-4 to 74 all out as Bussey’s 3-7 wrapped up the win.

Charlie Parker was another all-rounder in top form, the Grosmont skipper taking three wickets and hitting an undefeated 70 as the promotion-chasers won by seven wickets at home to Wykeham 2nds.
Ben Metcalfe top-scored with 40 in just 24 balls, including five fours and three sixes, while skipper Steven Clegg added 37 in 41 deliveries, including two sixes and five fours.

Hosts Glaisdale and Staxton tied in a dramatic match.
The home side batted first and made 239-3, Simeon Padmore the driving force behind the innings with a brilliant 96no, skipper Tom Wardell hitting 68 and Taylor Locker 46no.
Despite Jack Pinder’s excellent 70, Staxton looked to be heading for defeat with 99-6 thanks to Mark Hollingworth’s stunning 5-55 until veteran Kev Armstrong’s heroic 71, plus lower-order runs from Danny Jackson (24) and Craig Hill took them to 239-9, needing just one run to win with one ball remaining.
But the latter was dismissed from the final ball of the match for 26, caught by Owen Carson off the bowling of Charlie Garrett and the honours were shared.

Brompton 2nds won by eight wickets at home to Bridlington 3rds.
