Coulson and Readman to be honoured over Bank Holiday weekend

Scarborough’s sporting community will gather on Bank Holiday Sunday to remember former Edgehill legend Steve Coulson and Cloughton stalwart Mick Readman.

The pair have been remembered with annual memorial fixtures since they sadly passed away, Readman’s event into it’s eighth year while Coulson will be honoured for the seventh year running.

Former Cloughton Cricket Club man Readman’s memorial proceedings get started with a race night at The Red Lion, with the big game between a Cloughton XI and a Readman Invitation XI getting underway at 2.30 on Sunday.

There will be a barbecue, raffle and live music into the night as the Cloughton community yet again remember one of the village’s sporting stalwarts as they aim to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.

Former Edgehill FC manager Coulson, whose four sons, Alec, Michael, John andMartin have all represented the club, will be honoured at Staxton on Sunday as Edgehill’s current side take on their Reserve counterparts.

The game gets underway at 10.30am at Staxton and there will be some food and drinks at The Ship on Falsgrave afterwards.
