Folkton & Flixton’s York & District Senior League Division One East season finished with a three-wicket loss at home to runners-up Hull Zingari.

The Hull side chased down their target of 207 with just four balls to spare.

Nathan Johnson (4-43) took four wickets for the visitors, to finish as the division’s leading wicket-taker, Tom Norman with 78 among his victims, Connor Stephenson (38) had earlier contributed useful runs to the total too.

Opener Chris Mann had also chipped in with 24 for the home side and number eight batsman Josh Till also scored a handy 28 as they were dismissed for 206 from 39.5 overs.

Tail-ender Will Norman also added 13 from five balls to help the village side pass the 200-run mark.

Hull’s top three of Jack Storey (47), Lawrence Wilkinson (46) and Guy Martinson (51) all prospered before their side’s progress was checked by four wickets Chris Mann (4-42), and it was left to Fergus Wilkinson to guide them to victory remaining unbeaten on 23.

Tom Norman, Connor Stephenson and James Clark all took a wicket apiece as Folkton & Flixton made the high-flyers battle for their win.

Having challenged for most of the season, Folkton & Flixton’s defeat to eventual champions Beverley and Zingari saw them miss out on championship glory.
