The Tykes take on Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the Royal London One Day Cup on Tuesday, with the game getting under way at 11am.
Hodd admits the 50-over format suits their side more than the swashbuckling approach of the T20 Blast.
“We had a little bit more success in one-day cricket last year,” said the Yorkshire gloveman.
“We got to the semi-finals and I think this competition mirrors our strengths a bit more from the Championship than Twenty20 does.”
Yorkshire’s first encounter at their seaside fortress is part of a bumper week of Royal London One Day Cup action, which saw them take on Birmingham Bears and Derbyshire Falcons over the last week and culminates with the huge Roses derby at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Tickets cost £16 adults and £10 concessions and can only be bought on the day at the ticket office or turnstiles, and play gets under way at 11am.
