Luke Smith's stunning ton steers Snainton to home victory

A powerful 105 not out from just 60 balls by Luke Smith steered Snainton to victory in the only AndyHire Scarborough & District Evening Cricket League game to escape the rain on Tuesday night.

Opener Smith smashed nine sixes and four fours in his stunning innings against Cayton B in Division C, Michael Kipling adding 40 as the duo put on 163 for the first wicket.

Cayton then limped to 77-8 in reply from their 13.5 overs, Kieran Jackson taking 3-10, Ciaran Hunter 2-9 and Ryan Vance 2-14 for the home side as they sealed an 86-run win.

Harry Smith top-scored with 16 for Cayton.

All other league matches were wiped out by the rain on Tuesday evening.

All games rained off except: Division C, *Snainton 163-1 (L Smith 105no, M Kipling 40) beat Cayton B 77-8 (K Jackson 3-10) by 86 runs.
