Norman shines as Bridlington CC hammer Scalby to book place in YPLN Hundred Cup semi-finals
Bridlington CC powered to a 75-run home success against Scalby in the YPLN Hundred Cup quarter-final on Sunday morning.
With a rain-delayed start reducing the match to 90 balls per side, Premier Division 2 side Bridlington produced an excellent all-round performance to post 175-3, before restricting Championship East team Scalby to finish 75 runs short of the target.

Will Norman led the way with the bat for the home side with an explosive 50no from 22 balls, including four fours and two sixes, passing his fifty from the 90th delivery of their innings.
Number three bat Calum Hatton smashed 41 in just 19 deliveries, including four sixes and three fours, while Scott Cooper added 38no in 24 balls and Harvey Dixon 26

It was a superb team display by the hosts in the field, with Will Watts (1-6) arguably the pick of the Bridlington bowlers, dismissing opener Gregor Fraser, who top-scored with 32 from 40 balls for the visitors.
Attention now turns to the semi-final, where Bridlington will face Championship East title-chasers Beverley Town 2nds on Sunday August 23 at Driffield Recreation Ground, with an 11am start.
Bridlignton CC would love to see as many fans, supporters, family members and sponsors there as possible to get behind the lads. Hopefully it’ll be another great day for the club!
Finally, Bridlington CC would like to say a huge thank-you to their coloured kit sponsors – the Watts family, Shannon Bakes of Tasman Solutions and Ollie West of West BS.
Their support is hugely appreciated by everyone at the club.
