Rob Middlewood steers Heslerton to Evening League win against Folkton & Flixton

Despite another Tuesday hit by wet weather, the AndyHire Scarborough & District Cricket League did see most games completed.

In Division A, Heslerton defeated Flixton by 34 runs.

Rob Middlewood led the way with a superb unbeaten 73 for Heslerton as they posted 158-2, Sam Triffitt weighing in with 30 and Kristian Wilkinson adding 43.

James Clark’s 53 gave Flixton hope but they fell short on 124-5.

Archie Graham was the all-round star as Seamer beat Filey by 15 runs.

Graham hit 25 and Gregg Chadwick 35 as Seamer set 115-5.

Graham then took 3-25 as Filey were dismissed for 100, despite a battling 31 from Stuart Neilson.

Jack Holt’s 40 steered Wykeham to an eight-wicket win against 10-man Staxton.

Ryan Hargreaves (20no) was the only batsmen to impress for the visitors as they made 79-6.

Holt then fired 40 off 32 balls as Wykeham eased home with more than four overs to spare.

In Division B, Breidyn Schaper’s unbeaten 82 helped Scarborough to a 78-run home win against Seamer B.

Connor Myerscough took 3-31 despite the North Marine Road club amassing 163-5.

James Denton then took 3-19 as Seamer limped to 85-8 in reply, despite 29 from stalwart Darrol Lewis.

Flixton B cruised to an eight-wicket success at Cayton.

Openers Ryan Woodhead (35) and Connor Davidson (49no) helped the hosts post 99-2, but fine work from Freddie Gunning (44no), Cameron Anderson (24) and Jake Hatton (27no) saw Flixton secure the win comfortably.

Jack Pickard’s 64 failed to stop Sherburn from a four-wicket last-ball home loss against Scalby.

Opener Pickard helped the hosts to 102-5, Gregor Fraser and Lachlan Cooke taking two wickets apiece for Scalby.

Skipper Brad Walker struck 20 as Scalby secured the win from the final delivery of the match, despite 3-13 from Jordan Wharton and 2-24 from Kyle Outhart.

Joe Dunnett’s 79 guided Ebberston B to a 20-run win against neighbours Snainton in Division C.
