Snainton beat Forge Valley in Evening League opener

Only one match was played in the opening round of Scarborough Evening Cricket League games on Tuesday night due to the wet weather.

The Division C game to beat the rain was Snainton s clash at home to Forge Valley A.

Charlie Ionascu was the star man for Valley with 4-31, but Michael Kipling's exceedingly good 35 not out, along with Joe Barker's 28 helped Snainton post 115-5.

James Boyes then took 3-16 for Snainton as Valley limped to 63-7 from their 14 overs.

A full league programme is scheduled for Tuesday May 11.
