Scarborough kept their York League Premier Division title hunt on track with victory in a low-scoring affair against Stamford Bridge.

Neil Elvidge’s men batted first and were on the back foot at tea after they were all out for just 160.

But the home side’s bowlers had other ideas and got to work with the cherry to ensure Elvidge’s men just about stay in the title mix-up as Bridge were skittled out for just 110.

Scarborough will look to move into the top three with victory on the road at York 2nds next weekend.

Scarborough 2nds fell a place to second in Division Three South despite collecting a six-wicket success over New Earswick.

Charlie Roberts starred once again for Mark Cowell’s men with bat and ball as the visitors returned to winning ways.

Roberts first claimed figures of 5-28 to reduce the hosts to 117-9 from their 45 overs, an innings dominated by a half-century from Chris Smith.

The 16-year-old then returned to top-score for the visitors, hitting 56 to help guide his side to victory with a huge 21 overs to spare.

Scarborough 2nds welcome York 4ths to North Marine Road next week as they look to move back to the top of the table.

Bridlington remain in fifth in Division One after a comfortable victory away at Flixton by 80 runs.

Casey Rudd struck his second century of the season as he made 129 and Sam Edmondson added 68 as the visitors scored a mammoth 276-7.

Simon Leeson, 5-31, then ensured the home side batsmen endured a difficult afternoon, Chris Mann the top scorer with 29 as Flixton were bowled out for 196.

Flixton will aim to bounce back on the road at Whitkirk next Saturday.
