Scarborough Athletic boss Darren Kelly has drafted in former Athletic striker David Brown as player-coach.

Kelly has previously worked with Brown at Hyde United and is excited to be linking up with him again at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

“I’m delighted to have Browny on board,” said Kelly.

“I have known Browny a long, long time. I played with him at Garforth Town and he was with me at Hyde United, so I know what he can bring to the table and what value he adds both on and off the field to the club.

“He’s been coaching at Bradford City and I know how good he is in the dressing room.

“I also think he still has a lot to offer us on the field, he is as fit as they come, has a great attitude and scores goals too, so he will provide great competition for our guys in the final third come the start of the season.”
