Boro busy getting ready for return to Scarborough Sports Village
After a successful season for Scarborough Athletic, chairman Trevor Bull is now fully focussed on bringing the Seadogs back to the Scarborough Sports Village for the 2026-27 season.
Boro reached the National League North play-offs despite having to play all their matches away from home.

Looking back on the past year, Bull said: “Twelve months ago we faced some incredible difficulties, but thanks to our friends at Bridlington Town FC, help from the Council and our local MP, and the tremendous backing of our loyal supporters, volunteers and sponsors, we managed to keep the club alive, which was our main priority.
“On the pitch the target was not to be relegated, but manager Jono Greening, his coaching staff and the players delivered us a fantastic season, that saw us achieve a record points total, our highest ever league placing and a place in the play-offs. Not only that, but we ended up as one of the highest-placed part-time clubs in the country.”

Now, as work nears completion on repairs to the drainage system, and a new upgraded 4G pitch is about to be laid at the Sports Village, Bull is working full throttle to make sure Boro’s return home runs smoothly.
He said: “It’s almost like a full-time job, as there is so much work to be done ahead of our return home.
"We only have one full-time employee, our commercial and marketing manager Ree, who does a brilliant job looking after the day-to-day running of the club, speaking with sponsors and advertisers and organising our social media forums.
“We have two part-time staff, the club secretary and a very good book-keeper, everyone else involved is a volunteer, including the board of directors, who all contribute an enormous amount of time to make sure we can compete in the National League North, where several clubs are full-time and are funded by rich owners.
“Boss Jono Greening has been getting on with sorting out the playing squad for next season. Off the field, our immediate focus is to get the ground ready to host National League North football after a year lying derelict.
"There’s lots of moving, cleaning, tidying, painting and other tasks to be carried out, so we would welcome any help from supporters.
“Also there will be meetings with sponsors, Everyone Active, the Council and Police.
"We are hoping that fewer matches next season will be segregated, and we’d also like to upgrade our drinks and catering facilities.
"The aim will be to make the stadium as welcoming as possible for both home and away supporters, and to give everyone an enjoyable matchday experience.
“Because of our financial situation, and the fact that we are a fans-owned club, we have to work within our budget and not spend money that we can’t afford.
“Last season we had a few one-off donations, which helped us greatly.
"We’re hoping to arrange home pre-season friendlies to raise extra income, and have a few summer events lined up, including two kit launches and a T20 match at Scarborough Cricket Club to raise funds for both clubs.
“We will announce season ticket information, squad news and details of pre-season matches when we are in a position to do so.
"We’re very proud of what the club has achieved since formation in 2007, and are determined that we continue to be a vibrant community asset to the town of Scarborough, and it will be great to get the ground rocking again next season.”
