Boro skipper Michael Coulson on Scarborough Football Scholarship Open Evening

The Scarborough Football Scholarship will hold an Open Evening on December 16 at The Flamingo Land Stadium.

The event will be open to male and female students currently in Year 11.

The evening, between 6pm and 9pm, will give potential scholars the chance to meet the tutoring and coaching staff and ask any questions.

In attendance will be Scarborough Athletic skipper Michael Coulson and player-coach Ryan Blott and they will be joined by former Boro captain Denny Ingram, Scholarship director Steve Brennan, Boro communications director Martin Dowey and Boro sports therapist Leah Ager.

The Scholarship work alongside Boro in a bid to help the club produce potential stars of the future.

Scholarship coach Coulson said: “Having come through the youth set-up at Scarborough FC myself, I know that it is so important for the town that we have a conveyor belt of young players progressing through to the first team.

“We are looking to welcome as many students as possible as we look forward to another exciting year.”

The Scholarship have teams in the National Football Youth Under-23 League, where they compete against Everton and Crystal Palace, the National Under-19 Youth Alliance and the AOC Sport League.
