Rees hit four more in the semi-final, with Oliver Jordan and McNiven adding the others to give Boro a 6-0 win against Danish side Aahuis.

Athletic once again came up against Forza Corraggio in the final and fell behind early on.

McNiven levelled up before the break, then a Jordan penalty and a Cooper finish handed Boro the silverware.

Coach Sean Leighton said: “Every single one of our players stood out over the two days.

“To concede one goal in an entire tournament is a great achievement.

“They were all so well behaved as well, the team was a credit to the town of Scarborough.”
