The spoils have been shared in the last two meetings and both sides will be looking to finally put one over on the other as they go in search of silverware.
Cayton manager Shaun Rennison said: “We’re quietly confident. We’ve had such a strong end to the season and the lads are buzzing for the final.”
Cayton have a youthful squad with their oldest player being 26-years-old, this is something Rennison believes will be a benefit to the Corinthians.
He added: “A lot of the younger lads have never played at a proper ground before and they are definitely ones to watch out for. They’re relishing the chance to play at Pickering and we’ve got a full squad to choose from.”
Edgehill boss, Dan I’Anson also expressed his teams excitement at getting to the final.
He said: “We’ve had plenty of games to build us up to the final and we’ve been involved in plenty of good battles against Cayton.
“It will be a tough game but we’ve beaten the likes of Seamer Reserves along the way, proving we are capable of winning those tough games.
“We know how good Cayton are but we just have to play our way and see how the game goes.
“We’ve played them twice already and drawn both times, but they finished the season so strongly I’d expect them to be favorites. Having said that I know what we can do and we are more than capable.
“Everyone at the club has been fantastic. The team has been chopped and changed so much but everyone who has played for us has given their all. It’s so hard to pick a player of the year as it could be shared among 11 of them and I expect they’ll show the same quality in the final.”
Rennison added to I’Anson’s expectation, saying: “We’ve struggled against them for the last few years but we have finished well and had a good season.
“The two draws show improvement and it will be another close affair, but hopefully we’ll come out on top.
We’ve filled a full 49 seated coach for the trip, it’s been a while since we won anything and everyone at the club is hoping to change that.
“The lads can’t wait to get going and we’ll have to see how it goes on the night but hopefully we can pull it off.”
While Cayton have a full squad to choose from, Edgehill have a few knocks and they will be keeping an eye on how things are in the build up to the big game.
