Boro haven’t played at home since the coronavirus pandemic halted all sporting action in March, but return to their home ground this Saturday for the first of two test fixtures as the club welcome back up to 300 fans for the fixture.

“I’m pleased and frustrated,” said the Boro chairman.

“I’m pleased that we finally have some football, but frustrated that more people aren’t going to be able to watch it.

“The ground has been very carefully marked out with one-way systems, sanitiser stations and more, so fans will no doubt feel they’re in a safe environment on Saturday and going forward.

Supporters must remember that these two fixtures are test events and the eyes of the football world and local government will be all over us to make sure we comply with all the rules.

“Saturday and home matches for the foreseeable future are going to feel very different.

“We’ve been told in no uncertain terms that if we don’t obey these rules that there’s a chance of the ground being closed down and us being kicked out of the league, so it’s very important.

“If supporters follow the rules we’re confident the amount we’re allowed in will gradually increase.”

Bull also revealed the club have sold a record number of season tickets ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Season tickets have gone well, in fact we’ve done record numbers,” added Bull.

“I suppose people want to guarantee a place in the stadium, and we’ll also be selling batches of seven tickets from this week for those who don’t want to commit to a full season ticket.”

Boro fans will get their first glimpse at the club’s new kits on Friday, Bull revealed, before they go on sale on Saturday.

“We’ll be announcing the new kits on Friday,” he added.

“We’re launching a very different away kit this year which is great news.

“They’ll be on sale online and from OneStop from Saturday.”
