After impressing in pre-season training with Curtis Woodhouse's Trinity, Lofts has been snapped up by the former Bridlington Town manager for the 2020-21 season.

Lofts, 22, had been linked with Gainsborough during his time with North Ferriby United but he opted to sign for Boro instead in October 2018.

Woodhouse, speaking to the club's website said, "I’m delighted to welcome Luke to the football club, he is another really talented player and one I’ve liked for some time.

"Luke has been training with us and his attitude and application has been brilliant to go alongside his ability.

"Luke has that ability to go past players with ease and will be another great addition for us."

Lofts said: "I am delighted to get things sorted and be joining Gainsborough.

"The team the manager is putting together with some really good, and hungry young players and the way he wants to play, it excites me and I can't wait to get going!"
