Falsgrave sink relegation rivals Ayton

Mikey Anderson, who had a fine second half, struck twice for the visitors, who pulled clear thanks to two late goals when the second-from-bottom villagers were looking to get back into the game.

Matty Bywater levelled for the hosts in the first half with a 35-yard strike after keeper Justin Trotter had mishit a clearance and Chris Milburn made it 2-2 early in the second half with a header, but Trotter more than made up for his slip with some fine blocks in an action-packed second half, Shaun Dolan also pulling off some fine stops for the hosts, who had centre-backs Tom Clarke and Jake Adams on top form.

Basement club Snainton claimed a surprise 1-1 draw at promotion hopefuls Duchess.

James Hughes gave Duchess an early lead but 15 minutes from time Shane McAuley fired in a leveller from outside the penalty area to earn a share of the spoils.

Chris Watson was the Duchess man of the match, while Josh Hird on his first-team debut and keeper Haydn Backhouse impressed for Snainton, the latter pulling off a last-minute save to earn his side a point.

Edgehill Reserves moved into second place in the table with a 2-1 home win against Scalby.

Tom Scales put the hosts in front but Scalby levelled after the interval, and could have gone ahead but Mark Vasey's penalty was saved was saved well by the impressive Edgehill keeper George Allen.

The winner was scored in somewhat curious circumstances, Craig Love smashing a superb 25-yard shot into the goal, hitting the stanchion and coming out, and with the referee not blowing for a goal Jon Cairns fired in the rebound and was awarded the goal, despite the ball having crossed the line from Love's shot.

Martyn Ferrey hailed central midfielder Love and striker Lee Dennis as his men of the match but also reserved a special mention for the performances of 16-year-old trio Benny Davis, Cailum Webster and Ben Atkinson, the latter two making their first starts in senior football.

Seamer Sports Reserves are still well-placed in the title race after battling back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at home to Cayton Corinthians Reserves.

Jake McAleese put the away side in front on the stroke of half-time, but a double from Tommy Adams after the interval sealed the win for Seamer.

Jamie Whitelaw hit the bar late on for Cayton, who were unsettled by a second-half injury to Kieran Glave.

McAleese and Ellis Howley shared the star man award for Cayton, while Lee Tate and Marcus Mockridge were the men of the match for Seamer.

Filey Town Reserves eased to a 6-2 win at West Pier Reserves thanks to a hat-trick from man of the match Joe Gage.

Billy Coyne also weighed in with a double for Town, Tom Haxby completing the scoring in a good all-round team performance by Lee Eblet's team.
