Former Boro defender Peat handed Barton Town role

Former Scarborough Athletic defender Nathan Peat has been appointed as assistant to Barton Town's new boss Rob Watson.

Craig Denton resigned from his role as manager of NCEL Premier Division club Barton on Monday with his assistant Watson swiftly being installed as the new boss.

Watson's first act as manager was bringing in Peat, 37, as his assistant.

Peat signed for Boro from North Ferriby United in the summer of 2015 and he made 41 appearances and scored two goals in the 2015-16 season.

He left in the summer of 2016 to become player-manager at Brigg Town.
