Former Bridlington Town boss Billy Heath has brought the striker to Alfreton after Day had spent last season with Tadcaster Albion.

This continues a recent rise through the levels for the Bridlington-based hot-shot, as he has moved from NCEL Premier side Brid to NPL NW Division club Tadcaster and now jumped to National League North.

Speaking on the Alfreton club website, Heath said: “I was looking at Jake a few seasons ago; he’s 28 so he is a late starter in terms of going through the levels.

"Jake is a strong player and at 6’3 will provide a real presence up front for us. He is an aggressive player and has scored goals at the levels he has been at.”

“Jake is hungry to step up now and we are pleased to get him, he has a great attitude and will work hard.”
