They are also looking for new sponsors for kit, tracksuits and matches, as well as any volunteers who want to help the club at the next level.

The acceptance of a new Edgehill Development team into the Newitts.com Beckett League will provide a pathway for the juniors to progress into the men’s game.

First-team boss Alec Coulson, who has been either a player or manager with the club since he was a teenager, said: “We’re really pleased to have a development team that creates a clear pathway between the junior setup and the first team, helping bridge the gap and supporting 16–17-year-olds as they make the transition into senior football.

“Martin Cappleman will be running it and I’m really pleased how it’s taking shape.”

The new Edgehill Juniors teams, taking over from Scarborough Football Scholarship Development Juniors, will be the Under-7s, Under-8s, Under-10s, Under-11s, Under-12s, Under-13s and Under-16s.

Head Coach Jamie Patterson, who was in charge of the SFS teams and will remain in the same position at Edgehill Juniors, said: “This exciting change strengthens the connection between our junior section and the highly successful men’s team, creating a clear pathway for young players to develop, progress, and fulfil their potential within one club.”

Patterson, who retired from men’s football last season after a 22-year career which included many titles and trophies with Edgehill, added: “While our name is changing, everything that makes our club so special remains exactly the same – the same coaches, the same values, the same commitment to player development, and the same community spirit.

"This is more than a new name; it’s the next step to building a united club with one vision and one pathway from grassroots football to the senior game.”
