This week we are switching attention to the right-back role, with fans of both Scarborough FC and Scarborough Athletic being given the opportunity to pick their favourite player from that position on the park.

All you have to do is send us your decision via text or email before the Wednesday of the following week.

Our panel has made their selection for the right-back role, let us know what you think.

Mitch Cook chose Ces Podd: He was a modern day full-back playing in the 1980s. He was fit and up and down the park all the way through the game.

Darren Foreman chose Darren Knowles: Very consistent and tough-tackling. Technically not the best, but he made up for it in endeavour. Darren never got the run-around.

Jimmy Beadle chose John Kay: An aggressive hard man, who seemed to lift numerous left wingers into the old Cow Shed.

Ivan Ash chose Darren Knowles: Steady and dependable. In the words of Billy Ayre he was a good little pro.

Martin Dowey chose Ces Podd: Another player from my first season as a fan. Was ageing at the time but gave his all, which caught my eye as a wannabe defender.

Stuart Canvin chose Charlie Fountain: A superstar full back from my youth. From that fantastic group of players from the 70s.

Michael Coulson chose Ashley Lyth: Never got too much credit, but was always ultra consistent and had great quality on the ball. Top lad on and off the pitch.
