Jordan Stephenson and Lily Burke fire Bridlington Rovers Ladies to 4-2 home win against Howden
Bridlington Rovers Ladies AFC worked hard for a 4-2 home success against Howden AFC Ladies on Sunday.
After experimenting with formations last week and losing out agonisingly at the death against Beverley, Rovers returned to their roots against a tough Howden side in the East Riding County Women’s Football League Division Two clash.

Lily Burke was named as the player of the match for Rovers, also scoring one goal, while Jordan Stephenson was on top form with a hat-trick.
The Rovers Ladies social media account said: “It wasn’t our finest display, and we had a few lucky escapes under pressure, but our teamwork shone through, and we clinched the win!

"Jordan kicked things off with a penalty, and shortly after, Lily B made her mark with a stunning debut goal for the club from outside the box, sending us into half-time with a sweet 2-0 lead.
"Howden fought back hard in the second half, leveling the scores at 2-2, but it only took a minute for Jordan to respond, dribbling from the halfway line and chipping the goalkeeper!
"As if that wasn’t enough, just for fun she completed her hat-trick with a free-kick that just snuck into the net.”
Brid Rovers Ladies will make the short trip to tackle derby rivals Pocklington Town Ladies this coming Sunday, 2pm kick-off.
