Kittrick plans to cut Cables

Three points will be the clear focus of Scarborough Athletic boss Steve Kittrick when his side entertain fellow strugglers Prescot Cables on Saturday.

Boro will also be looking to end their horrendous run, which has seen them lose each of their last eight Evo-Stik North games.

Kittrick is not helped going into the game by the absence of Matty Bloor, who is serving the second of a two-match ban, while fellow midfielder Steve Mallory begins a three-match suspension.

He will be able to choose from a string of new signings in Nicky Draper, Dave Merris, Shane Killock, Carles Lleches-Parra, Redmond Lee and Tom McNamee, all of whom made their debuts against Marske United in the North Riding Cup in midweek.

Kittrick said: “It is all about those three points at the moment, we need to get that win under our belts.

“I haven’t had Prescot watched, so it will be a little bit off the cuff, but we’ll be having a look at a few of our up-and-coming opponents so we know where we are.

“It is a blow to be without Matty and Steve, but we are still looking to strengthen. We may have at least one more player in by the weekend.”
