The former York City and North Ferriby United man had been struggling with injury since the beginning of the season and a trip to see a consultant revealed that he had torn his hip.Had he not been diagnosed, then the Boro man would have required a new hip, despite only being 24.Lisles is now looking forward to the Christmas period, not only for the festivities, but also because he can take another step on the road to recovery.“I have spoken to the consultant again and he told me that I can start running next week, so I’ll be starting that at the game against Tadcaster Albion on Boxing Day,” said Lisles.“It is feeling a lot better now, there is a lot more control, but I just need to keep building the muscles up around it.“The consultant hasn’t put a time frame on things, but it is important to have goals and reaching the running stage is one of those.“After that I can start a bit of ball work and then start turning when I run. Obviously I want to be back playing football before the end of the season, but I don’t want to be rushing things.“I have been keeping myself fit since my operation, it is a matter of achieving fitness and managing my hip.“I think I’ve only had two days off my bike in the last six weeks, I’ve always been a fit lad as well, so I am getting there.“I can finally see the finishing line after what has been a frustrating time, now I just need to keep myself pushing forward.”
