Mancrief has been boosted by the addition of Newlands midfielder Danny Jenkinson, who was initally suspended for the game following his sending off in the rep team’s last outing against the Teesside League.

Newlands boss Mancrief said: “Danny and Shaun Dodson were both sent off in the game against the Teesside League, but because this is a friendly they are now available to play.

“Shaun is unavailble, but Danny will play, which is great news because he’s one of the local league’s top players.”

Mancrief believes that personal fitness will be the key on the day and the league manager is hoping that his team may have the edge.

He added: “Lads these days like to keep themselves fit and that is the case with all of our players.

“That will be the difference on the day, we’ll be hoping to catch them off-guard.

“We have the strongest team possible out there and we’ll be there to give them a game.

“You never know what can happen becasue the lads are all 100% up for it.

“We have players like Billy Logan, Dean Craig, Stefan Moon, the Thomas brothers from West Pier and Sean Exley, who will all be able to cause them problems.”
