Bishopthorpe pressed the Scarborough defence for the first 10 minutes, Chloe McArthur broke free and coolly slotted home the opening goal for the hosts but Bishopthorpe equalised not long after.

Milly Bowes had a shot and the keeper parried it onto the onrushing Isla Williams who finished under pressure.

Bishopthorpe equalised again straight after.

With the score level at 2-2 after 20 minutes, Scarborough found another gear and went into the half-time break with a 7-2 lead.

Arguably the goal of the game came when Mia Morris picked up the ball on the halfway line, then deftly positioned and delayed a stunning ball through four defenders to leave McArthur one-on-one with the keeper, neatly tucking the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

In the second half, Bishopthorpe were the team to get the scoreboard moving again, converting a penalty awarded against Molly Lassey for what seemed a tremendous last-ditch tackle, Scarborough replied a minute later with a weaving run and finish from Morris.

Firmly in the ascendancy, Scarborough went on to score a further five goals with excellent team play.

Bowes ended up with five goals, with hat-tricks for Morris and McArthur, Williams also netting.

Grace Leach and Martha Stockill had excellent games, but Girl of the Game was shared by Maddie Dunn, for a solid defensive performance and dominance on the left, and Morris for outstanding distribution and goal contributions from the Number 10 position.
