Newlands handed sponsor boost

Defending Scarborough News Sunday League Division One champions Newlands have recived a boost after a new sponsor weighed in to buy them a new kit.

Park wrestled the title away from long-standing champs Trafalgar last season, and they’ll look the part this campaign as they look to retain their crown.

The club’s two sides Sunday League sides and their Saturday League teams have both been sponsored by John Wood Plumbing & Heating.

Park boss Ben Luntley said: “Massive thanks to John Wood, he approached me off his own back this summer wanting to invest some money into the club.

“It’s come as a huge boost as running four teams at a club is a huge expense and clubs at this level wouldn’t survive without generosity from local companies such as his.”
