PAUL FOOT: The buzz around the club is great

From a management point of view, we couldn’t ask for any more from our players or our fans.

The buzz around the club is immense and we have been so impressed with the support we have received.

From the very start at New Mills the fans have been doing what they do best and that has snowballed as we have gone on.

Even at Harrogate on a Monday night they turned out in force and cheered us on, which is something I know means a lot to all of the players.

Receiving backing like that gives you a great feeling as a player and for us as managers, long may it continue.

Obviously there is going to be a time when the results don’t go our way, but I feel that the fans believe in us and we know that the lads have bags of character that will allow us to bounce back from anything that goes wrong.

We understand that some fans will wait until we get back to Scarborough because they don’t fancy the journey to Bridlington.

At the moment, we are top of the league though and we are hoping to come back to Scarborough next season, so you can see why a few more are coming on board and buying in to what this club is trying to achieve.

For me personally, the buzz I’m currently feeling is one of the best during my time in football.

The fact that everything and everyone has come together right from the beginning of pre-season is giving me a great feeling about things.

Obviously our start has been great, but we don’t want judging on that yet, we won’t be looking at things until at least 10 or 15 games because by then things will have settled down.

I’ll be keeping my feet on the ground, and with Bryan (Hughes) we’ll be looking to make sure the lads do the same because it is easy to get carried away with things.
