Player-coach Brown happy with Scarborough Athletic coaching team

Scarborough Athletic may have been without manager Darren Kelly for their first two pre-season friendlies - but player-coach David Brown was happy with the efforts of the coaching team in his absence.

Player-coach Brown has overseen training sessions and friendlies alongside assistant manager Jimmy Beadle and player-coach Ryan Blott.

Boro beat Garforth Town 3-1 last week before a 2-1 win over Yorkshire Amateur in sweltering conditions on Saturday afternoon.

“I’ve been impressed with how we have worked together in the last week or two,” said Brown of his relationship with Beadle and Blott.

“We’re all singing off the same hymn sheet and to be fair, we all had a similar vision of what was going on during the games and what we needed to do.

“While Darren is very much in charge, we all have a hand in things and we have a good set up going forward.

“It will be good to have the gaffer back in now too.”
