Bloor is one of six to rejoin Boro for the new Evo-Stik North campaign, alongside Shane Killock, Dave Merris, Paul Robson, Jamie Price and Eddy Birch.

Boss Steve Kittrick is waiting on the decision of Steve Mallory, while he is meeting defender Dean Lisles this week.

Bloor is still hugely disappointed by the previous term, which saw Boro finish third from bottom of the table.

The Doodson Trophy final and the energy of the fans during that game have offered him some end-of-season comfort though.

He said: “If you don’t want to play for a club with fans like that then there is something wrong with you.

“This season is all about Scarborough Athletic, all about pulling things together for this club.

“Nobody needs to tell us that we underachieved last season, I’m still very disappointed about the whole thing.

“We can’t dwell on that now, that season is gone, we have to put it behind us.

“The cup final at the end of the season showed that we have the nucleus of a good squad.

“Now we have to build on that with the right type of players.

“Nobody wants to talk about promotion or play-offs, all I’m going to say is that we want to be going out there wanting to win every game we play in.”

Bloor is keen to avoid the injury jinx this season after the frustration of last term.

He added: “I signed for the club thinking I was okay, but then straight away I needed a knee operation.

“When I came back I played a lot of games and having had no pre-season took its toll.

“My body is feeling the best it has ever felt now, so I’m raring to go.”
