“He wants more playing time and his brother Lee is a player-coach at Bottesford too.

“We wish him all the best. He could have sat on the bench and taken the money, but he wants to play games and we respect that.”

Foot is delighted to be retaining the servies of Blott, Robson, Davidson and McCaffrey heading into the new campaign and was quick to sign the praises of all four.

The joint manager added: “It’s great that these four have committed their futures to the club.

“Tom Corner and Gary Bradshaw provided Ryan with the kick up the backside he needed and his attitude was fantastic.

“He finished the season superbly with some important goals and to have Blotty firing will be massive for us this season.

“He’s been with the club a long time, he was an apprentice when I played for Scarborough FC in the Conference, and it’s important that we keep players who have an affinity with the club.”

Foot is also delighted with the news that Robson, Davidson and McCaffrey have signed up on the dotted line.

He added: “Paul Robson won the player’s player of the year award so that shows how much he is rated within the club, and he can play in almost any position too, which is great.

“His attitude is fantastic, he’s an athlete and it’s great to have him on board.

“Pete Davidson is a good lad to have around the place and his attitude is great.

“We have noticed a real change in him since me and Bryan took over and it’s great that he wants to play for the club.

“If we can get Kieran fit he will also be a real asset to us going forward, so that’s another piece of good news for us.”
