Scarborough Athletic manager Darren Kelly is gearing up for a return to action next week as the second national lockdown comes to an end.

The Boro boss will be putting his players through their paces on the training pitch for the first time since the start of November next Thursday before the club hope to return to action the following week.

Kelly has confirmed loan stars Ryan Whitley and Kian Spence remain with the club until their deals are discussed at the end of 2020 with parent clubs York City and FC Halifax Town respectively.

"Ryan and Kian are still with us," said Kelly.

"Kian almost went back to Halifax a week or two ago when they were struggling with injuries and suspensions, but their game was postponed so he's stayed with us.

"Both deals are up until the new year and then hopefully we can keep hold of them as both are key players for us.

"We will have games coming thick and fast soon hopefully, so we will need to have a strong squad."
