The Boro boss is confident of landing his number one target in the coming weeks as he looks to add firepower to his forward line.
“I’m making some progress with a player who I have been trying to get in for a couple of months now,” added Kelly.
“It would be a real coup if we could get this lad through the door and I am working really hard to bring it to fruition.
“Nathan Cartman has been superb so far this season, but he needs some more support up top.”
