It was soon 2-0 to the hosts, former Boro forward Walshaw applying the finish when the ball came back off the bar.

It could've been worse for Darren Kelly's men but for Harry Coates' clearance on the line when keeper Ryan Whitley was beaten.

Boro had some hope in the 53rd minute when Nathan Cartman reduced their arrears to 2-1.

However, any hopes of a comeback were soon dashed when Walshaw netted his second on 75 minutes to make it 3-1.

The final goal of a disappointing contest for Boro came in the 84th minute when Reece King found the back of the net to wrap up the home side's 4-1 win.

Boro will want to bounce back immediately when they host Nantwich at the Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday.
