Scarborough Ladies FC U15s suffer first defeat of season in cup semi-final
Scarborough Ladies Under-15s’ unbeaten run this season came to an end with a loss to league rivals Bishopthorpe White Rose Black in the North Riding FA Junior Girls Cup semi-final.
The first half was evenly matched with just one Bishopthorpe goal separating the two sides.

However, first-half injuries to Matilda Jordan and in-form Chloe McArthur stretched a Ladies team that was already missing a number of key players.
A severely depleated midfield allowed Bishopthorpe to apply pressure throughout the second half and gain a further two goals. The first, a powerful shot just inside the right post, and the second, a cheeky back heel giving the keeper no time to react.
Given the challenges of missing players, injuries and several players covering unfamiliar positions, Scarborough showed their spirit and togetherness to battle until the end.
Bishopthorpe were continually frustrated by the Scarborough defence, with a Bishopthorpe player being removed for final five minutes of the game.
Scarborough coaches split the Girl Of The Game award between Maddie Dunn for her frenetic performance in defence, and Isla Williams who made some remarkable saves whilst playing out of position as goalkeeper.
